2026 Bomb Hole Cup Race Day Recap

Snow depths may be low but stoked at an all-time high today with some many riders converging on Brighton Resort for Race Day of 2026 Bomb Hole Cup. It’s no secret that snow hasn’t been sticking around Utah this winter but the snowboard community and Brighton Park Diggers did a tag team on riding in and shaping up two snake runs as our courses for race day. Sponsor tents went up early Saturday morning and final bib pick ups were happening at the Bomb Hole tent before the 9:15am riders meeting at the top of the course.

In classic snowboard fashion we had some rolling up to the top of the course fashionably late but hanging with fellow boards and sharing the stoke to make turns kept everyone on task. Race plan is easy: grab a transceiver, get to the course that coordinated with the class you signed up for, go fast, cross the finish, return your transceiver, then get some laps on Milly before getting you second run in.

As the day got underway top drop banter increased, side bets amongst crews grew (the Raymer vs. Grey Katko head to head was wild), and the course was ever evolving in spring conditions. For those who missed it, day started as west coast icy (aka normal east coast conditions) and the berms grew as riders dug heels in toes in around the gates. Course Two was getting a bit rocky as turn six melted out and revealed some of Brighton’s finest mineral. Some racers said “let it ride” while other’s were mourning the dings in their structured base. Brighton Digger crew reset the turn for second laps and people were revving to best their times.

Once everyone lapped their two runs, course started getting broken down, and everyone made their way back to sponsor tent village to hang and get eyes on the Splitboard Race. Some days you could argue that the Splitboard Race might be the only reason we keep doing Bomb Hole Cup. Drew a line in the snow at the bottom of Milly, lined up all splitboards who seemed to revel in the idea of splitboarding up the blue race course, transitioning, and riding down the red race course, counted them down and let them go. Open sprint start, looking for the hole shot or whatever the dirtbike phrase Chris uses, but when push comes to shove splitboarding is just who’s got a strong pace based on watching these go down. Big ups to Shane Campbell for winning a third time a year in a row.
