On The Rise: Brett Stamper

They call Brett, The Hitman, and although we weren’t able to confirm if he’s got mob ties we do know he’s putting a beat down on the steel.

Name: Brett Stamper

Age: 24

Hometown: Foxboro, WI

Home Mountain: Spirit Mountain

Sponsors: Capita Snowboards, Union Binding Co, Damage Boardshop

Stance: Goofy

Setup: I ride the Capita Darkhorse 154cm with Union Binding Ultras and 9/-9 for angles

Year You Started Snowboarding: 2013

How you got your first Snowboard? My dad bought me a 25$ board at the local hockey shop that would sell old beat up boards. It was missing a chunk of the heel edge. It didn’t matter, I was so excited.

Make and model of your first board? Lamar or a Morrow I can’t remember honestly

What or Who Got You Into Snowboarding? My older brother, he got a board first so naturally I wanted to do the same exact things as him.

Best Contest Result: Honestly I have no idea lol.

A monumental Snowboarding moment that you’ll never forget?  I don’t know if it’s monumental  for anyone else but in Hand Over Fist that pyramid gap session with Jared and Nik is so sick. Jared’s back 7 melon is one of the best back 7s I’ve seen. Plus the Moby Grape song just does it for me.

Go To Trick? Bs Rodeo 3 melon it feels good looks good just all around hyped on that one.

Least favorite trick? Cab 1 pretz 3. Just a tasteless trick, contest vibes on that one for sure.

Biggest Fear? Drowning for sure

A time where you should have died but made it out unscathed? Sounds like a weekend on the ropes honestly, the amount of close calls and almost run ins with people and features that happen on the daily is insane. Definitely keeps you on your toes.

Favorite Video Part of All Time: Definitely Rene Rinnekangas’ HEAVEN. That video is on repeat.

Biggest Inspiration: As a kid it was definitely Torstein Horgmo and Halldór Helgason, what’s inspiring me to board right now is Buster 2. The riding and the vibes are just up in that video.

Steel or Powder? Steel

Most Underrated Rider: Jake McPherson

Dream Sponsor (Doesn’t Have to Be Snowboarding-Related): Menards or Home Depot

Interests Outside of Snowboarding: Music, skateboarding, art

Words to Live By: “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” -Vince Lombardi and “Pain is temporary, Glory is forever” -Evel Knievel

Shout Outs Big shouts to Capita Snowboards, Union Binding Co, Damage Boardshop, Emmet Klocker, Ben Olson, Tyler Mills, my parents. All the homies who let me crash at their pads so I can film. Wouldn’t be able to do any of this without their support.
