We’ve got a new series to coincide with a new site. On The Rise is here to connect you with the next generation in snowboarding.
Name: Hunter Goulet
Age: 21
Social Media: Instagram at huntergoulet
Hometown: Park City, Utah
Home Mountain: Park City, Utah
Stance: Goofy
Setup: I run the Nitro Alternator 160 and Team Pro 159, Nitro Team bindings, and Nitro boots. My stance width is 20.75 and my angles are +15 and 0.
Year You Started Snowboarding: I started snowboarding in 2008.
What or Who Got You Into Snowboarding? I don’t really remember, I started skiing before snowboarding. I honestly think it looked cooler and more fun at the time. Maybe watching X Games on tv or one of the Grand Prix in Park City made me want to start.
Make and model of your first board? Burton chopper 80cm.
How you got your first Snowboard? I think I was begging my parents for a while and my dad surprised me with one for my fourth birthday. Thanks dad!
Best Contest Result: Honestly nothing that great. I was always pretty consistent with making finals at rev tours and I did a few World Cups but I never really had enough to get on the podium. I maybe made a top 10 at a Dew Tour once but it was a pretty weak run compared to the big dogs. I won some events at nationals a few times when I was a grom. So that could be my best result if you look at it that way.
Favorite Video Part of All Time: I’m super bad at picking favorites and definitely don’t have one. But a part I’ve always liked is Arthur Longo and Blake Paul’s part in Vans’ EVERGREEN. Their part really inspired me when I was younger and still today.
Biggest inspiration: I get inspired from many things. I would say my friends and the new gen inspire me the most. Skating has always played a huge part in my life and I get so much inspo from it. Recently I’ve been super inspired from mountaineering and would like to get more into it in the future.
Biggest Fear? I get pretty scared of the ocean haha. I’ve definitely had some pretty sketchy experiences in the water. I feel super out of my element. The animals are also just so freaky to me and knowing there’s nothing in the distance for miles trips me out. I would like to surf more in the future and get over the fear.

A time where you should have died but made it out unscathed? 2024 season my friends and I went on a trip New Mexico. We found this huge old rock retaining wall held together by chicken wire or something like that. Anyways, I wanted to do a ollie into it and right as landed the ollie on the wall my nose clipped a rock or a piece of the chicken wire. When it clipped it made me do a front flip from like 20 feet up. Somehow I was fine.
Go To Trick? A jump trick that is a go to if I need to land is a front 360 or 720. Both of them land nicely to the toes. My go to rail trick would be a boardie. I feel more comfortable doing a boardie than a 50-50 on most rails.
Least favorite trick? Those crazy axis tricks that those younger contest kids are doing. The one I’m thinking of is that moose flip thing. I think that’s what they’re calling it. It just looks like a weird front double rodeo thing and they switch up the grab. I’m sorry, it looks so bad to me.
Steel or Powder? I like riding powder better. I enjoy watching street parts more
A monumental Snowboarding moment that you’ll never forget? Watching that Bmo backflip off Thin Man cliff at Brighton. I was on the some other cliff band in the distance and saw it from there. It was insane and everyone who was around was going nuts! Blake is a legend for that one.
Most Underrated Rider: There are too many. Most of my friends I think deserve a bit more shine than they’re getting. But to say some people’s names I would say Liam Johnson or Mitchy Davern. They’re the truth.
Dream Sponsor (Doesn’t Have to Be Snowboarding-Related): The easy answer would be Visa. Free money would be insane! But for real a personal chef would be epic, I suck at cooking haha.
Worst Trend in Snowboarding: The slow mo 4K powder videos. It’s just so slow and boring to me. This is also the biggest complaint I hear from people who don’t necessarily watch many pow videos. I can get down with it if it’s tastefully done for the right clips. For the most part I’m so over it. I thought Camp Robbers was the most refreshing powder video in years because most of the clips that are in it are in normal speed and it just looks more entertaining to me.
Interests Outside of Snowboarding: I’ve gotten a bit into filming and editing the past few years and would like to do more with it. I also like to spend my summers skating, backpacking, biking, chilling, working, and hanging with friends.
Shout Outs: Shoutout to my family. Especially my parents, I wouldn’t be anywhere without them. Shoutout to my friends, old coaches, sponsors. Shoutout Good Samaritan and Team11, love you guys. Shoutout Bomb Hole, you guys have helped me get through some long days at work. Lastly, a huge shoutout goes to Bob Plumb, Knut Eliassen, and Griffin Seibert. Those three have helped me out a ton. Much love to everyone<3
Thanks Hunter!
