Year You Started Snowboarding: 2015

What or Who Got You Into Snowboarding? My family all skied, so I started skiing first. My aunt snowboarded, and I really looked up to her when I was little, so I wanted to snowboard because she did. I took a few lessons at our local resort, Welch Village, then joined a snowboard team at Buck Hill the following year. I remember as soon as I learned how to turn, I just wanted to go to the park, and the instructors of my lessons were like, “We don’t really know how to teach you that” haha

How you got your first Snowboard? My mom got my first board from Craigslist for like 50 bucks

Make and model of your first board? Burton Chicklet B13

Best Contest Result: X Games bronze in Streetstyle

Go To Trick? On rails frontboard pretz, backboard pretz, or nosepress. It depends on the feature, but usually one of those three. On jumps back 1 or back 3, or just a tweaked indie grab.

Least favorite trick? Backboard sameway. For some reason that trick is so hard for me and always feels and looks so awkward haha

A time where you should have died but made it out unscathed? When I was around 5 years old, I was at the park with my dad and was climbing a huge pine tree. I was at least 3 stories up, and the branch I was holding on to snapped. I literally ping-ponged down through the entire tree and my dad like half-caught me before I hit the ground. I ended up being completely fine, scratched up and bruised, and a little freaked out, but completely fine. It’s crazy to think how much worse it could’ve ended if my dad weren’t there or if I were to have hit any bigger branches on the way down.

Biggest Fear? I have so many goals in snowboarding and life in general, so my biggest fear is probably not being able to do everything I want to do or be everything I want to be. I just want to get to a place where I can look back on everything and feel truly proud.

A monumental Snowboarding moment that you’ll never forget? Placing 2nd in Red Bull Heavy Metal in Duluth in 2022, and honestly just being a part of the event in general. I was 15, and the features we hit in the event were my first street spots ever. It was also my first time competing in a street-style type of event. It felt like a breakthrough moment for me in snowboarding. I was able to get my name out there and hold my own with a heavy crew of boarders, and it was also just such a fun day. Scary, but so fun. That event definitely sparked my interest in street snowboarding and got my foot in the door of that world.

Favorite Video Part of All Time: I honestly didn’t start watching many videos until the past couple of years, so I’m still trying to find a top favorite.

Biggest Inspiration: Jess Kimura, Jill Perkins, Emma Crosby, and Grace Warner

Steel or Powder? Steel

Most Underrated Rider: Mac Greenhouse, Ella Sorensen, and  Gibby Corcoran

Dream Sponsor (Doesn’t Have to Be Snowboarding-Related): Snowboarding-related Red Bull, not snowboard-related Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt

Worst Trend in Snowboarding: Or just when the song doesn’t match the vibe of the clips in general.

Interests Outside of Snowboarding: Skateboarding, making art, music, thrifting, and going to the gym. I’m also currently in college for graphic design.

Words to Live By: It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to has power over you, if you allow it.

Shout Outs: My parents and family, my roommates, my sponsors, and everyone who has supported me and my snowboarding in any way 🙂
