How did you find snowboarding? My dad was a professional snowboarder, and my mom worked at snowboard events. When I was born, my dad was still filming and competing and I spent a lot of time up in the mountains with them. I started skiing and snowboarding when I was four and went to the park for the first time when I was nine, so I’ve been snowboarding ever since. My parents always wanted to show me that snowboarding brings people together — that you meet people on the mountain and just have a good time with them. Since this season, I really understand what they meant.

Best Contest Result? 1st place Rock a Rail Innsbruck and Hintertux

Favorite Snowboard Video? Isenseven videos. I grew up watching those videos because my dad was part of them. I especially like “Let’s Go Get Lost” and “Teenage Love Graffiti”

What motivates you? The chance to always try something new

Who brings the best energy? All the girls at the Uninvited Invitational – the vibe is always amazing there

Worst Trend in Snowboarding? Big pendants on the pants, like stuffed animals. Looks cute but how on earth can you ride comfortably with those?

Biggest fear? Losing my phone again in the snow after hitting an obstacle because my pants pocket was open, not being able to find it, and realizing I hadn’t backed up my photos or contacts… (okay, it was found again after the season, survived the grooming, and still works). So don’t be surprised if you see me checking my pocket at the drop-in.

Is there a time where you should have died but made it out unscathed? Or sketchiest moment? I tried a transfer on a high rail during the “Rock a Rail” finals in Innsbruck, but I missed the first rail and got caught on a cross rail, then flipped over and landed on a ledge one level below. Luckily, I landed on the right side and was able to get back up for another run. Aside from a bruised thigh and a broken board, nothing much else happened.

Worst trick? back2 in cause it‘s scary to jump backwards in the rail without seeing where you land

Warm up or straight to business? Warm up when I don‘t know the obstacles, straight to business in a park I’ve been riding the days before

When do you ride your worst? On days when I don’t have a feeling for the board

Steel or Powder? Both. I really like that with rails you don’t need much — you can just focus on one feature and spend days on it without getting bored. But on powder days, I’m heading home with a big smile on my face, because it’s just something special and doesn’t happen nearly often enough.
